DISAPPOINTED Time owned: months
You can review my 1st comments on my FTdx9000D, SERIAL# 11. The first posted review on EHAM. I got a bonafied LEMON. I returned my rig to YAESU, THEY PAID THE shipping to and from my location, BUT, I STILL HAVE MANY PROBLEMS, after it was worked on, and shipped back to me??? I have owned and ABSOLUTELY enjoyed my ICOM IC7800 for 8 months, NOT 1 Single problem!!. I want a FULL refund, OR a later serial # Replacement!!!. I CANT BELIEVE I AM THE ONLY ONE that has received a LEMON. Yaesu has ask me to ship it back for the second time. they argeed to pay the shipping both ways. I want a COMPLETE refund or newer serial # replacement, AND A FULL YEAR +++ of Factory Warrenty. I will NEVER buy a early release again!!!

FLAWED PRODUCT Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I purchased a FTdx9000D unfortunately before reading the review by K7ERQ. I had serious reservations but I am using an old reliable FT-1000D and had hopes that his was an isolated faulty rig.
This is a beautiful rig to look at. Unfortunately that is is it's only positive feature.
1. While in the first SSB QSO the transmitter stopped responding to the PTT on my mic, switching mics did no good nor did switching to VOX mode. The rig will not function on any voice mode.
2. The rig "locks up' when switching bands either by using the buttons surrounding the TFT display or using the VFO-B. The same thing happens when switching modes. Usually only one to three attempts is needed. The receiver mutes. The red TX LED comes on but no output can be detected and all the buttons and knobs become non-functional. Turning the rig off and on restarts the whole process.
3. While operating CW the breaker popped. I could not smell smoke or any fried components so I carefully turned the rig back on. Everything seemed OK but when I began to transmit I noticed that the output had dropped to only 20W, confirmed by another wattmeter.
4. The auto tuner will only work in the CW mode.
5. I now have a large, very beautiful $11,500 CW only QRP rig that works on only one band at a time.
I contacted Vertex Standard as soon as the problems arose and they quickly agreed to take it back for servicing. Ten minutes later they called back and told me to hold on shipping as they had a number of problems with "this lot" of rigs. Their people in Japan were trying to figure out the problem. There have been several phone calls since but no progress.
This product has serious flaws and I definately do NOT RECOMMEND anyone buying this rig for at least another year or two to see is they can work out the flaws.
I will post future comments if Vertex Standard will come through and support this product.
If anyone has a functioning FTdx9000D please notify me at brunopj@att.net.
Thank You 73's
