Hi guys,
The Invoker Team is currently driving through the PanAmerican highway, heading to the next destination, Iguana island.
We are delighted to see huge pileups on every slot we put on the air, but sometimes we wonder wether this is convenient or not for those smaller stations that want to make the contact. For this reason we decided to offer just 1band-1mode in the last 2 islands, in order to try to work more "uniques".
We will keep working this way.
We have noticed many people repeating qsos. We kindly ask them to try to work us again on a different band in case they are not sure of the contact.
Also, we kindly ask everybody contacting us NOT to repeat our callsign and his callsign in order to confirm...whenever they have heard well their callsign from us. This really breaks the QSO rate and just creates confusion to us thinking we got a wrong letter in the callsign.
Just a simple 59(9) TU is enough.
As a little report, which will be extended later, we would like to explain our blackouts on San Blas islands (NA-170), due to a generator which was beyond our control. We had to ask for permission to use it and keep it running for as long as it could.
The good thing about NA-170 was the perfect location of the antennas, with open paths towards all directions, so thanks to it we did not have to use any amplifiers (we would not have been able either, as the generator was just 1.5Kv).
Just the opposite situation at Grande island (NA-202) where the path toward EU was closed by the island's mountain and thanks to the amplifiers we could arrive to EU with notorious lower signals.
However, we could relax and eat some decent food in this one.
See you in the pileups soon
