Hi George, N2HO,

It appears you may live on Long Island which is US Island # NY003S and part of the IOTA group NA026. We would like to encourage N2HO to operate from NY003S during the 2015 US Islands QSO Party on August 29-30 (1200-0300 UTC). The 21 year old US Islands Award Program has 3000 islands listed of which 2000 have been activated and more new and activated islands being added every month.

As an IOTA station you probably attract contacts whenever N2HO is on the air. US Island stations attract similar interest, especially from the increasing number of Hams collecting US Island contacts. Operating from NY003S during the USI QSO Party (and USI™s Spring One-Day Getaway) can add a new dimension of radio fun as a whole new group of island and non-island stations will be trying to log N2HO. Hope NM5RC is able to visit with you during the Party from my bucket sitting expedition to one or more islands out in the desert puddles we call lakes in New Mexico.

Вкратце по-русски: 28-29 августа (1200-0300 UTC) будет проходить 2015 US Islands QSO party (день активности островов Северной Америки). Я никогда ранее об этой программе ничего не слыхал и в ней не участвовал.

Ральф просит меня поучаствовать, т.к. я живу на большом острове Long Island IOTA NA026 (или по дипломной программе US Islands Award Program этот остров имеет номер NY003S). Всего островов в этой программе числится 3000, из которых активировано пока около 2000. Подробнее можно посмотреть здесь US Islands Awards Program.
Честно говоря, я пока не знаю, смогу ли принять участие в этом дне активности. На нашем Лонг Айленде много станций активно работает, т.е. этот остров неплохо представлен в эфире и мое участие не так важно ИМХО.

Если для кого-то эта информация представит какой-то интерес, буду рад.
