Организационный комитет WRTC 2026 принял решение о допуске всех спортсменов прошедших отборочную квалификацию на одинаковых условиях!!!

Как и обещал публикую переписку с вице президентом организационного комитета WRTC2026 Lee Volante G0MTN.


Dear Mr. Lee Volante,

I am writing to respectfully request your clarification regarding the participation procedure for Youth Team #1, which consists of the Russian athletes RA9P and R2BFL.

I am the coach and the father of one of these athletes, that is why the situation surrounding our team is a matter of great concern to me.

On March 1, 2026, a letter addressed by you to the members of WRTC Committee was published on a ham radio forum by Robert Tomas, R5AA, a member of the WRTC Sanctioning Committee. This letter contained proposals for the discrimination of athletes. Based on this document, the Board of the Union of Radio Amateurs of Russia (SRR) made a decision to exclude these competitions from official calendar and recommended to Russian athletes to refrain from participating in them.

We understand that the decision of the Russian SRR is not a ban on participating in WRTC 2026, especially since the qualification events for participants were conducted not on a national basis, but exclusively based on competition results within their respective qualifying zones.

We understand the amateur radio charter's prohibition against the propaganda of war and the incitement of ethnic hatred. Moreover, we all have prior experience participating in WRTC, specifically the WRTC 2023 organization in Italy, in which we took part. It was held at a very high organizational level, with no incidents involving the infringement of any athletes' rights.

I ask you to draw your attention to the fact that no special conditions were announced prior to the qualifying rounds or in the invitations to participate, and that we have already incurred significant expenses related to our trip to WRTC 2026, I kindly request you refrain from compelling athletes to sign any additional conditions for participation in the World Championship. We have all been raised under the motto "Radio Sport Without Borders and Out of Politics."

If you have not seen already, there has been a statement from WRTC 2026 Chairman Mark M0DXR today. I am copying this below. There will be no restrictions placed only on Russian participants at WRTC 2026. I hope this answers your questions and removes concerns.

The WRTC 2026 Organising Committee would like to clarify the topic of national identification for the WRTC 2026 event. The 2023 event held in Italy recognised the changing situation around the world with regards to national identification and implemented a balanced approach given a number of factors.

After very careful review, and consultation with the WRTC Sanctioning Committee, noting that the qualification process is by Qualification Area (not DXCC), the OC decision is to maintain the approach of Italy 2022 (2023). No national identities, flags or emblems are permitted at WRTC 2026 and teams enter as their QA or given team name as given on the WRTC 2026 website at the below link.

WRTC 2026 Допущены ВСЕ НА ОДИНАКОВЫХ УСЛОВИЯХ

Анатолий, здравствуйте! Бесспорно это хорошая новость для всех российских участников WRTC-2026. Т.е. вернулись к тем канонам и принципам, которые были установлены на WRTC можно сказать изначально.
Какой-то неприятный осадок из-за поднявшейся шумихи всё-таки остался. И чтобы его снять, хочется просто выяснить - а было ли на самом деле письмо G0MTN к Роману Томасу? И если такое письмо было - действительно ли это было письмо от Ли G0МТN, а не чей-то вброс с целью посеять панику в информационном пространстве? И если всё-таки это было письмо именно от G0MTN - принимал ли он тогда такое решение самостоятельно или всё-таки это было сделано коллегиально. Это не для полемики в этой теме, хочется лишь выяснить вышесказанное.
