Завтра выдвигается в сторону AS-044, вещи и снаряжение уложено в прицеп.
Вечером ночуем в пос. Херпучи до него 500 км грунтовой дороги с одной паромной переправой и проезд через территорию действующего рудника. Надеемся, что дорога не сильно после дождей раскисла. В посёлке перегружается на Урал и более 100 км заброска на берег залива Николая, там "стапель" и в путь.

Hi Island Chaser friends,

I am planning on being on Gasparilla Island (FL), NA-069 for approximately 24 hours, starting just before 0000Z on Sunday, July 20th (evening Saturday local time). I had hoped to make this more like a 36 hour trip, but events at home prevent me from leaving tonight. I'll drive down tomorrow, hoping to arrive before sunset.

This one isn't that rare, and most serious island chasers probably have NA-069 confirmed, but it is one of the last two on the US Atlantic/Gulf coast I'm missing, so that encouraged me to drive that far down the Florida peninsula before a meeting I have to attend in Orlando starting Sunday evening (local).

I'll be operating from POTA US-1874 some of the time, but I might have to operate elsewhere during darkness. I'm likely going to sleep some though (including likely at sunrise in Europe), so if you really need this one, you might have to operate during my schedule.

Work me on as many bands/modes as you can! But once I work you on 17M CW (or whatnot), no need to work me again on 17M CW. I either have your call or we'll sort it out.

This will be mostly 30, 20 and 17 for the IOTA folks, although I'll keep 15 and 40 as options too. I will advertise on POTA, although this really isn't a very rare park, so that won't generate pile-ups. I looked at VOACAP, and 17M is again the apparently most likely band for Europe and Japan. Mostly CW and FT8, but some SSB on 40M is possible when I'm in the POTA park. If you are in Australia or New Zealand and need NA-069, please let me know, as that may require some different approaches.

There isn't camping that I can see on this island, and I splurged on a room in the hotel on the island. This means that I can, if nothing else, operate mobile from my vehicle in the hotel parking lot.

I wish I were more prepared! Most of the relevant equipment hasn't been tested in some time, and hopefully I've got it all in working order. I'll try to bring back-up equipment. I'm bringing a 705 for just in case, but the main rig will again be the FT-991A. Dipoles if I can find a spot to put them up, otherwise a vertical.

I'll upload to ClubLog and LoTW and will make IOTA matching available 30 days out for everyone. I'll print some QSLs too. Paypal donation appreciated, but not necessary: angoss@augusta.edu (name on account: Pax Bobrow).

Всем привет, для тех кто интересуется поездкой Антона RG0C - сообщаю. Он нынче был на трафике, у них всё нормально. Добрались до залива Николая сегодня в 15 часов местного. (5utc). Почти полностью связали тримаран. Координаты табора 53.42.1094 с.ш. 138.39.2168 в.д.
Залив Николая - южный берег.
По прогнозу у них ночью начинается ливень, надвигается циклон, целый день будет завтра лить. Но это прогноз. Как сказал Антон, если не шибко, то выйдут в море.
От Антона всём большой привет.
Если кому то не интересно и скажут, что я засоряю тему IOTA. то товарищи модераторы могут её перенести в отдельную ветку для интересующихся этим походом Антона.
Как говориться на всех не угодишь.

Hi Island chasers,

Gasparilla Island has been very welcoming -- and it has largely recovered from the near direct hit by Hurricane Ian in 2022. This is a nice alternative to Sanibel, but likely more expensive to rent a house.

Thanks for your interest in this last minute trip. I booked the hotel Friday night, that's how unsure I was about this. But lots of chasers have been calling. Really appreciate it, as I have 250 QSOs already. And I slept for 5 hours. Many thanks to those Europeans who stayed up late waiting for me.

The equipment has mostly worked. ClubLog and POTA have been updated, if you are curious. Condx seem good (for mid July), although I know many of you have trouble hearing me. But I am hearing very well -- especially on 17M. Very, very low noise at the portable location I was using, and very good copy. CW contacts are easier than FT8, because less QRM, but FT8 is necessary sometimes so you can hear me, I know. If you can hear me, it is very likely I can hear you.

I still owe those in Zone 19 and 25 a serious try, as well as the Europeans who have not gotten through yet. I'll be on from 1900Z to 2300Z, at which point I have to pack up and drive to Orlando.

I will not spot on POTA at that time, so focus is on IOTA chasers, especially low power in Europe and anyone in Asia -- please use QRO if you can .

If you are in North America and still need NA-069, please email me for sked, likely at either 1900 or 2300 (or look for me on 20M). I am using portable antennas, and changing from 17 to 20/40 takes 20 minutes, so can't do quick QSY.

I've looked at VOACAP, and assuming no solar (or terrestrial) storm here is the tentative schedule

1900-2000: 15M
2000-2130: 17M (maybe 15 if good)
2130-2300: 20M

I'll do both CW and FT8, starting with CW. Feel free to work me on both modes, if you desire. No penalty.

I'll be doing some nearby (NON-IOTA) POTA parks for a few hours with the mobile antenna, but will be back on the air at 1900Z from NA-069.

I plan to be QRV from these two islands as K0AP/4 starting on 27 July with NA-076 (Cedar Key) and possibly on Wednesday, 30 July QRV from NA-142 (Okaloosa island) for a couple of days. These IOTA's are not rare but few might still need them for ATNI... Special focus on JA/EU/OC. Mostly CW, but if no callers will QSY to FT8 and possibly SSB, if requested.

Охотно верю. Но почему-то другие аналогичные соревнования в расписании есть, но помечены, что в них особые условия для России и Белоруссии, то бишь тот же чеклог.

Ну это говорит лишь о том, что раздел с соревнованиями на qrz.ru теперь бесполезен. Там много чего нет по странным критериям. "Назло маме отморожу уши".
Все, кто знает и участвует в каких-то контестах - знает даты и первоисточники информации и без qrz.ru
