In the past two weeks Dev Team members have successfully interfaced N2IC’s Waterfall Bandmap and N1MM’s Spectrum Display with non-Icom radios using two popular SDR technologies: LP-Pan and SDRplay. Because Spectrum Display is still experimental and these solutions involve real out-of-pocket hardware expenses we have delayed making any announcements.
The following is not intended as a step-by step tutorial, but if you want to experiment, here are the basic requirements:
- the latest rev of Waterfall Bandmap 1.0.0.10a (thanks, Steve!) and N1MM+
- a virtual serial port for CAT sharing (LP-Bridge2 for LP-Pan owners)
- local LAN with UDP transport
- RF connections appropriate for each SDR
-- for LP-Pan, an IF I/Q output (if you already have NaP3 running with your LP-Pan then you’re good-to-go)
-- for SDRplay, an antenna feed from your radio (RxOut from an Elecraft K3, ??? from other radios. Could also be an external Rx Antenna switching circuit)
Because Waterfall Bandmap feeds its baseband signal downstream to the Spectrum Display, you must first get Waterfall Bandmap working with your SDR hardware. Once all of that works, launch the N1MM >Window >Spectrum Display.
I’ll try to answer questions from those of you who decide to experiment.
BONUS – integration with the DXLab Suite with the exception of VFO control (QSY) from the WB or SD display

Две недели назад появилась поддержка I/Q based SDR приёмников через Waterfall Bandmap. Теперь, если к любому трансиверу сделать приставку с I/Q (
